Philippe has over 17 years’ experience as a drug worker and trainer for various drug treatment providers. He is the Chair of the National Needle Exchange Forum and a Consultant on injecting equipment, naloxone formulations and Opioid Substitution Therapy products. He specialises in Harm Reduction and Blood Borne Viruses, and has been testing the most marginalised for HCV for over 15 years. He has used all manner of diagnostic tools, from venous samples, to dried blood spot to RNA capillary testing. Philippe believes the best chance of eliminating HCV is to take the treatment to people, as opposed to expect people to attend various appointments to get treated.

He has made documentaries on injecting drug use, is a regular speaker at national events and guest on national radio and television programmes.

He is a strong opponent to the “War on Drug Users” and believes people who struggle with their drug use should be supported rather than punished.
